East Cobb is located in the section of Cobb County that lies to the East of I-75. It is south of Cherokee County and West of North Fulton. It is made up of numerous smaller communities including Mount Bethel, Noonday, Shallowford Falls, Sandy Plains, Blackwells and, Westoak.
East Cobb is home to the Avenue at East Cobb which is a large retail and dining complex with a variety of shops ranging from national retailers to small boutiques. The Avenue is located in the heart of East Cobb off Roswell Rd just North of Johnson Ferry Rd. Around the corner, you’ll find Merchant’s Walk. Merchants Walk is an established shopping area home to Whole Foods, a movie theater, Marlows Tavern, Old Navy, Kohls, and many more retail establishments. A stone’s throw from Merchants Walk you will find a Super Target, Dicks Sporting Goods, and many other retail essentials.
Parks and Recreation
East Cobb is home to numerous parks and walking trails. A very popular park is the East Cobb Park on Roswell Rd. It is located on Roswell Rd in Marietta and is home to numerous walking paths, a large playground, open space, pavilion and much more. Many events are held at this park annually.
This area is also conveniently located very close to the Chattahoochee Nature Center. The Nature center offers walking and hiking trails, events for the family and access to the Chattahoochee River. The river is commonly kayaked or floated in inner tubes during the Summer months.
East Cobb is home to some of the top schools in the state. The high schools in this area are Lassiter, Walton, Pope, Sprayberry, Kell and Wheeler. Some areas in the Kell and Wheeler districts fall outside of the East Cobb boundaries.
The Middle Schools in this area are Daniell, Simpson, Hightower Trail, Mabry, Dodgen, East Cobb, and Dickerson, McCleskey
